I was featured in a treasury!!

I get so excited when I'm featured in treasuries, maybe because it hardly ever happens...lol. But I got a sweet convo from a fellow Etsian CraftSheep the other day that she featured me in her adorable sheep treasury. She featured one of my handmade baby cards to go along with her theme: "Counting sheep at a baby shower...a few ideas for organizing a baby shower or gifting at one!"

Friday Sketcher's Challenge -Sketch 99

So this week on Friday Sketcher's they have a wonderful sketch from sketch host Carole. This sketch is meant to be used on a square sized card but I decided to go with another A2 size...I love to challenge myself to see how much I can fit into the very cute smaller sizes. Although I think I will definitely be keeping this sketch to try it on a square size in the future!

This year I wanted to start making more cards for the boys and men in our lives so I went with a Father's Day card for this challenge. I'm not too sure if I like the way it turned out but I can say I absolutely love the adorable digi stamp image that I got for FREE from Bugaboo Stamps! Be sure to check out her adorable site and her wonderful digi's!

CARD DETAILS:

PAPERS: DCWV; mocha brown & forest green textured card stock, wood planks and octagon patterned paper. Plain white cardstock.

INK: ColorBox; creamy brown & moss green. BicMarkit markers; Tiki hut tan, kiwi lime & forest green.

IMAGE & SENTIMENTS: Digi stamp turtle from Bugaboo Stamps, "Love My Dad" my own computer text print out & inside sentiment "Happy Father's Day" from MSE.

EMBELLISHMENTS: Buttons, ribbon, hemp cord, metal fish charm & the adorable crocheted leaves are from a lovely fellow Etsier CraftMeCrazy...be sure to check out her shop, her crocheted embellishments make wonderful little additions to your cards and are so well made!

Happy Earth Day!

I just wanted to say Happy Earth Day to everyone out there and hope that we are all doing our part to help the earth! I found this great website today with some great tips on how we can help celebrate Earth Day and everyday...you can check it out by clicking on the pic below...

And it looks like more and more people even companies are spreading Earth Day cheer around these days which is an awesome thing...look at Google's lovely banner that they created for Earth Day:

New Handmade Baby Cards!

I just added some new handmade baby cards to my shop today! I have never made baby cards before until my BF asked me to make some fore her. So I had to dig through all the stamps I had to see what I could use to make some! I found I did have some really cute baby sentiments from TCP Studios and some really cute farm animal stamps I think from Inkadinkado, so I decided to go with an adorable little baby lamb. Once I made the first one in pink I loved how it turned out so I made one in blue and then of course had to make a couple more in the other baby colors!

I've become addicted to stitching my cards lately so I have machine stitched them inside and out...lol. Takes a little longer but I love the look! I also thought the buttons with the thread through them was a nice touch. And I absolutely love the new Argyle embossing folder hubby got me for my Cricut so that's what I used for the background...reminds me of a baby blanket! These turned out so cute I think I will be making more baby cards soon!

Mojo Monday's Sketch Challenge...

I found another great challenge blog with absolutely fabulous card sketch designs! Mojo Monday has a new sketch challenge every Monday with a prize for the winners the first Mondays of every month! I absolutely fell in love with this blog! Their design team is so talented!!

I absolutely love this sketch and it worked perfectly for my beautiful wide but short Inkadinkado stamp designed by Kathy Davis! I decided to make it into another lovely Mother's Day card.

Friday Sketchers Challenge...

So this is a little late seeing in how the next sketch will be coming out tomorrow...lol. But this is my card I made using the fabulous sketch from Friday Sketchers for this weeks challenge.

It will be Mother's day soon...so I thought this sketch would be perfect to use for a Mother's day card!

PAPER: Textured lavender and patterned pink from DCWV & plain white card stock

STAMPS: Beautiful shadow flower from Inkadinkado

INK: Marvy brush markers in various purples and pinks blended together and coral pink and ice blue from Colorbox for inked highlights

EMBELISHMENTS: Prima flowers in lavenders and pinks, lavender satin ribbon and dew drops

TOOLS: Cuttlebug embossing folder and Spellbinders tag and frames

Also used a bit of stickles glitter on the stamped image...

♪♫♪ ~*HaPpY BiRtHdAy*~ to me!! ♪♫♪

I'm not too big of a partier since I've had kids but I still had fun celebrating my birthday last night with the hubby and the kiddos! My birthday is today but hubby had to work a long day today so that's why we did it last night. I can't believe I'm 28 already and just last year I was teasing the hubby when he turned 32...lol!!! Time flies by so fast!

We celebrated by going out to eat at the Gateway mall, because I love the food selection they have there...I know I'm weird! Plus while at the mall we caught a movie..yes it was "Alice in Wonderland"...lol. I had been wanting to see it for such a long time...I so wanted to watch the 3D version but we missed it by a few days. It was still a good movie though and we all enjoyed it.

We came home, opened presents and had cake and ice cream...and no I did not bake it...lol. Hubby bought me a yummy chocolate cake with Bavarian cream in the center and whipped icing...so delicious! The boys got me some very adorable rubber stamps that I can't wait to try out! Hubby gave me my gift earlier that day by letting me go shopping and get what I wanted at my favorite craft store!!

And after all that I was pooped...lol...boring for some, but just perfect for me! Guess I'm getting old! :D~

I'm so excited I actually won something...I never win anything...lol!

A few more challenges I participated in this week...

I had so much fun participating in the last challenge that I decided to join in on a few more! For this one I actually joined in on 3 challenges at the same time from 3 different blogs and incorporated them into one fabulous card!

I absolutely loved the sketch from "Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge"...so this is the sketch that I used for my card:

I also wanted to play along with the "pink somethings" challenge from the "Stamp Something" blog as well as the "Ribbons and Bows" challenge from the "Stampin for the weekend" blog.

So in order to incorporate all 3 into one card I challenged myself to use the sketch, plus lots of pink and some ribbon and a bow. From the "Stampin for the Weekend" challenge they gave you the option in taking part in the extra recipe challenge which consisted of 3 papers, 3 embellishments and a charm...so I tried to include that too!

And here is what I was able to come up with:

I tried to fit the extra recipe challenge in but I couldn't find a charm to match the theme of the card after searching through all my charms I had. So I made a little paper charm with the "My Favorite Things" breast cancer awareness ribbon mini stamp that comes included with the whole stamp set and stuck it in the middle of my shimmer bow!





 I always have to dress the inside of my cards because they look so plain otherwise. I stamped the inside "We're in this together" from the same stamp set from MFT as well.

CARD FEATURES:

Stamps: "My Favorite Things" Think Pink set
Ink: Classic black pigment stamping ink from "ColorBox"
Embossing: Background paper embossed w/"Cuttlebug" and images and sentiments are stamp embossed with Iridescent Sparkle powder from "JoAnn Craft Essentials"
Markers: "Marvy" #30 rosewood, #47 pale pink and #66 dusty pink
Paper: Textured soft pink and patterned from "DCWV"
Embellishments: Paper flowers lightly spritzed with Vanilla Shimmer "Smooch Spritz", flowers are "Prima", pearl stickers on the dress from "Recollections", baby pink grosgrain ribbon w/white stitching, glitter sparkle ribbon, clear "Dew Drops" for the flower centers and border punched with "EK Success" fluor de lis punch

I also paper pieced the ladies stamp

Lots of inspiration to draw from working from the 3 chosen challenges! I had lots of fun! Now off to go submit my card and look at everyone else's lovely cards too!

I hope everyone has or has had a great Easter today!! It has been really rainy here for the past week and was sadly still very wet this morning so we decided to have our Easter egg hunt inside. The boys still enjoyed themselves though! They had a great Spring vacation and are surprisingly looking forward to going back to school...us too...lol! I will post pictures later tonight when I get more time! :D

HAPPY EASTER!!!

Getting inspired with my very first card sketch challenge!

I have really been wanting to start making cards again but I haven't felt inspired or motivated...plus I kinda got burned out around Christmas time...lol. Someone suggested to me I should join a class or a group to get my creative juices flowing. I've joined classes in the past and they aren't really my cup of tea not to mention they are pretty spendy and mainly meant for the purposes of beginners starting out. And I don't really know any crafty people around my area to join a group.

So yesterday I decided to browse the web and see if maybe I could find some type of online craft group when I happened along a wonderful blog that has a huge list of other blogs with online card making challenges! I was so excited to find these challenge blogs, because they were exactly what I was looking for to get motivated plus they looked like they could be lots of fun...maybe even addicting...lol. There are so many to choose from and I kinda got overwhelmed trying to choose one to play along with! Since yesterday was Friday I decided to go with one that had started yesterday. The one I went with is called Friday Sketchers and every Friday they have a different card sketch designed by their talented design team members. And to my surprise they even have prizes you could win!! What more motivation could you need then to participate to try and win some great craft goodies...that also got my hubbies attention!! :D

So anyways onto the challenge...here is my card I made following the sketch that I will be submitting to the challenge:

~Image & sentiment have been lightly spritzed with "Vanilla shimmer" Smooch Spritz

~I paper pieced the balloon with the matching cardstock
~I left the inside black

This challenge was so much fun and gave me just the little bit of inspiration and motivation I so needed! I know I will be joining in on much more soon! Wish me luck! :D~
