Friends Are The Greatest Gift of The Season! Sketch Saturday Challenge #183! Sponsored by the Craft Barn!

Happy weekend all!

I'm so glad the weekend is here and I admit I slept almost the whole day yesterday! I was so exhausted after Thanksgiving day and then I stayed up late that same night to go to the Black Friday sale at Best Buy! It was worth it though, cause I got exactly what I wanted...or I should say my boys wanted at a steal of a deal!! We are going to have some extremely happy boys! And hubs was so sweet to clean up the rest of the kitchen for me while I He has a 4 day weekend with Sunday being his last day. So it's been nice having him home all day.

I woke up early for a little bit yesterday before falling back to sleep to take these pics for my card and realized that I had somehow broke my good camera. I'm not sure what I did to it, but I was taking pics on Thursday while the family was here and everything was fine. And now when I turn it on, the green light just flashes and the LED screen is blank...doesn't show anything. Plus the lens doesn't come out all the way. I was so bummed because I loved that camera! I still have a warranty on it and paid for the extra service I'm hoping that it's covered to get fixed. Anyways, I had to break out my old one...thankfully it was charged up enough to take some quick pics though. The pics are ok, but don't come out clear and bright as they would with my good camera.

So anyways, it's Saturday again and yes that means it's time for another super fun sketch to play with over at "Sketch Saturday"!!

Here's a little inspiration to get you started...

The sketch:

And this week we are sponsored by "The Craft Barn"!

This weeks winner will win a collection of sparkly goodies!
Lovely new Frantage products from Stampendous – shabby pink embossing powder, shaved ice glittery bits, silver crushed glass glitter and bronzed mica flakes, all with a total value of over £20.00

The super gorgeous image I used today is from "Some Odd Girl"! She is called "Gifty Gwen"! I got me some clear stamps about a month ago and finally got a chance to use them. Her stamps are so adorable and so much fun to color in because of the large open spaces! Not to mention the packaging you receive everything in is so cute!

Plus I finally got me some Copic markers as an early Christmas present to myself! Over the week, I've been trying to teach myself how to color with them...which hasn't been easy because I've gotten so use to using colored pencils. I'm hoping I didn't make a very expensive mistake and hoping I will get better. This image is only my 3rd I will definitely keep trying! Plus hubs will not allow them to collect

Kept the inside super simple...

NEW Digital Sentiments and a FREEBIE!!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and got stuffed!! lol! Our day started off a little stressed but everyone had a good time! We had family come up from the coast which is 2 hours away. The plan was for them to come up the night before so that my aunt can help me get prepared and then cook the bird and everything else in the morning. She was also suppose to bring the bird...well guess what??! You probably guessed it...they forgot the it!! They loaded everything in their car or so they thought including their cat they brought with them...but forgot the de-thawing turkey on the kitchen counter! The main! So we ended up having to go to the store Wednesday night to get one...but all they had left were frozen ones!! So we filled up the bathtub with cold water and left it to de-thaw over night. It's a funny story now as I tell it knowing everything turned out...but at the time, we were all a little stressed. Other then that it was a good time!

Anyways, you didn't come here to hear turkey stories...he...he!

Last week I worked on some NEW Christmas sentiments, knowing and hoping that everyone is still trying to get all their Christmas cards done like me! Roberta from "Prairie Fairy Designs" added them all to the shop today, a total of 4 complete sets!

Have A Merry One!

I can't believe I actually had some time this week to get a card done that wasn't a DT project! Specially this week because I'm preparing to have Thanksgiving at my place!! I pretty much got everything bought and planned. Now the only hard part is keeping the house clean until family comes over...which isn't easy with 3 boys running!

My Grandma ordered cards from me this year, plus I have to get my own if you are sick of seeing Christmas cards from me,! :P~

For my card today I used the fabulous layout from "Deconstructed Sketch" and an adorable digi stamp from "Dustin Pike"!

I actually have had this image colored for awhile and planned to layer him so he was colored 3 times! The sentiment is just a clear stamp set from Studio G that I got in the bargain bin last year.

I'm starting to fall in love with Glamour I think I love it much more than Stickles because it's much more that a word??! Although Stickles is easier to work with, it's not as pretty!

Side view showing a closeup of the layering...

And the inside I kept simple...

Happy Thanksgiving! -Fairy Fun Fridays #66 -FALL!!

Time for another challenge at "Fairy Fun Fridays"!!
For the next 2 weeks our theme is we want to see all your Fall creations! Although it has felt more like Winter here in Oregon than it has I think it just may snow this year...or I guess I'm hoping it will!!

Here's my card...

I don't often make much Fall cards or Thanksgiving I thought I would surprise my mom with this card for Thanksgiving! Specially since she lives far away in Arizona along with my Grandma and I really miss them...even more this time of year...their cooking that!! Just kidding, but I do wish they lived closer!!

The gorgeous image I used is from Roberta's "Fall Harvest" set and can be found in the Prairie Fairy Designs shop HERE!

Not really liking the Stickles I used on the grapes...but can't really go back after you've put it And this is the first time I've tried the coloring on Kraft cardstock technique...I think I kinda like it? Although, I'm not sure if I've used the right kind of Kraft paper because I found it extremely hard to blend with my Prismas and OMS!

I found these beautiful brads at Michael's Crafts awhile back and finally found the perfect card to use them on! I think it matches nicely with the gorgeous background paper!

This is where I would normally show you the inside...but instead of an inside...I just decided to do up the back! Guess it would kind be more of a I embossed the sentiment.

SIZE: 6 x 6
STAMPS: Prairie Fairy Designs Digi Stamp -"Fall Harvest" and Sentiment is from my clear stamps stash (Not sure of the brand?)
COLORING MEDIUM and INK: PrismaColor colored pencils and OMS
