WOYWW? #108 -Yard Work Edition!

Goodmorning everyone and for those of you who stopped by over from Julia's blog, Happy WOYWW!!

It's been about 4 weeks since I was able to last participate in WOYWW because I have been super busy lately...I've been so busy I almost forgot how to blog when I wrote up my blog post on Monday after being gone for so long...lol!

Anyways since I had been busy and away from my craftroom most of the time...I don't have anything from my workdesk to show you, but I decided I would show you all what I've been up to these past few weeks!

So this is my WOYWW/Yard Work edition...lol!

As most of you know, we recently moved into a new house a few months ago. Well the house we moved into hadn't had anyone living in it for over a year and the person who lived here before us was a little old lady and was not able to take care of the upkeep on the outside of the house. So you can say it needed alot of TLC when we moved in...lol. So when the rain finally let up and the sun started shining on a regular basis we got to work on the outside of the house! Lots and lots of weeding, tilling trimming and planting and re-planting were needed. And I can now say I'm so happy we are finally done...well almost done and the house is looking beautiful again!

To give you an idea of what I'm talking about...here are some pics in particular of what the flower beds looked like that wrap around the entire house...

Most of the Rhododendrons that were planted were dying or dead and dried out...so we saved what we could and gave them some major trimming.

Here are the outer beds that are partially done after lots of hard work...

We also trimmed the Arborvitae along the drive way to let them bush out nice and evenly...which some of them are dying over toward the back which I don't think can be saved. I forgot to take a picture of what they looked like before we did all the work on them...but here is what they look like now...

Before we started doing all this work...I didn't realize how much needed to be done and how long it was going to take. I can say it has been exhausting...lol. But here are the flower beds and the outer portions after all we did to them...

For now that's what has been done...I'm hoping to have pics to show you here in the next couple of weeks of all the flowers we planted. Keeping my fingers crossed that they will bloom nicely, because I usually start my flowers in peat pots in the house before hand...but I decided to plant them right into the ground this time...lol.

While we were doing this...we also had a way of keeping the boys busy by giving them their very own little gardens to set up and plant. They had lots of fun!

We're thinking about getting more of these cute little beds and putting them all along the back of the house like this. And next month we will be laying down stone for the barbeque grill...it's going to look really nice, I hope anyways!

Since I'm sharing pics of my oldest boys which are 7 and 9...I decided I will show you my littlest munchkin too...he is 4...

Well that's all from me for now...hopefully I didn't bore you all with this stuff...lol. But we're pretty excited to be almost done and I'm excited to finally be getting back to my regular schedule! My craft room missed me...lol! And I hope I can get back to joining in on WOYWW again! I have missed seeing what my fellow crafters are up to!

If you're wondering what WOYWW is all about, you can stop on by Julia's blog "The Stamping Ground" and join in on a blog hopping...or snooping journey to see what your fellow crafters are all up to every week!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

And as I mentioned earlier...I will soon be opening up a new shop that will carry all my digi sentiments so grab these while you can because they will only be available for a short while.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Let Freedom Ring! Paper Playtime Challenge #49 -Red, White & Blue Theme -DT Card!!

Well hello there fellow bloggers and readers...log time, no see...lol. You all have probably been wondering, 'where in the world has this woman been?'! Why I have been enjoying the beautiful bright sunshine here in Oregon of course! Probably not enjoying it as much as I have been working out in it...lol...but I have been taking advantage of the beautiful weather we have been having. When we moved into the new house we are in a couple months ago...the person who lived here before was an old lady that was not able to take care of the the yard or outside of the house...so we have been working for the past couple weeks trying to get the place looking beautiful again! So major weeding, tilling, planting, etc...We are finally almost done, thankfully...lol. And since we have been taking a little summer break from certain DT's that I'm on, I decided I would take advantage of the time...but now I'm back to give my blog and craft room the desperate attention and fun they need...lol! I have some pics I'll be adding to my blog tomorrow to show everyone who cares about the progress we have been making to our place! But for today I actually have a new project to share...WOW...it's been 3 weeks since my last one...so enough of my chitter chatter...here we go!

The card I'm sharing today is one I have made for "Paper Playtime Challenge #49"...and I bet you can guess what our theme is this week...'Red, White and Blue'! And the image I'm sponsoring is from "Bugaboo Stamps". It's called 'Ruby Calender Month -July USA' and can be found in the "Bugaboo Stamps" shop HERE! The sentiment I used on my card is one of my own.

Her are some closeups...

I love the way the ribbon turned out! I learned a new and very easy technique to ruffle the ribbon...basically with your sewing machine, you can stitch the ribbon down the middle and then pull and tug on the string tails on each side to achieve the ruffle affect you want. I think it turned out awesome! I used hot glue to secure it to the card, if anyone was wondering. I've heard you can use "Score-Tape" too if you prefer...but I love my hot glue gun...lol! And as for the layered stars...I finally dusted off my "Cricut" machine and I believe the cartridge I used was "Home Decor". And to think I almost decided to get rid of my "Cricut" a couple months ago...glad I kept it!

And I continued with the theme on the inside of course! Love these gorgeous summery July design papers from "DCWV"!

You Are My Sunshine -Pile It On Guest Designer -Summer Heaven Challenge!!

Hello everyone!
I don't usually have much to post on the weekends as I'm usually spending time with the hubs and kiddos, but I was given the opportunity to be a guest designer for the month of June over at "Pile It On" challenges!! I just love "Pile It On" because their goal is to pile on as many challenges as you can get into one card, which I love to do...so I couldn't pass up the opportunity!! Plus their sponsor for this weeks "Summer Heaven" challenge is "Sassy Cheryl's Digital Art Stamps"!! Her stamps are super adorable and super fun to play with!

So onto the card...a little inspiration to get you started...

The image I used for my card is called "A Mother's Day Flower" and can be found in Cheryl's shop HERE

My pictures were just not wanting to turn out, but I added some diamond "Stickles" to the cute little image. I picked up those lucite flowers at Michael's during a sale they were having a few months back...and I should have got more while they were on sale, because when I went back to get more they are way expensive...lol!! But I just love, love, love them!

Here's some closeups...

As you can see I didn't include a sentiment as I usually do on the front because I just loved the way it looked without one. But I did put one on the inside. I didn't have any summertime stamps so I created one myself!
