Before jumping right back into the crafty world...a little update!

Hello everyone!
Or I should say, anyone?....lol

I can't believe it's been 4 years since I did anything crafty related! Wow! Has it REALLY been that long?!! I guess it doesn't feel that it has been that long, because I still follow most of you on Facebook. I've had lots of people asking me over the years when I was coming back and never had an answer for them.

It's been a long 4 years, with lots of ups and downs for myself and our family. It started with losing my grandma in 2013, which was hard enough and took a long time to process. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4, Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. She died within 6 months of her diagnosis, in June of 2015. It was obviously an extremely difficult time, because she was not only my mom but my best friend too. What makes it all the more heartbreaking, she was only 49 years old. Going on 3 years since she's been gone and it's still something I struggle with wrapping my head around. I miss her every day!

I made this up for her awhile back. The bottom pic was taken by me, a few years before she got sick. In the top pic, she was in the middle of getting her chemo and radiation treatments. She sent the pic to my phone a couple days before she died. She was so sick here, but she still managed to smile. I loved and miss her strength!

If that wasn't devastating enough, my husband lost his job of  nearly 10 years. And shortly after that, he lost his mom to a blood clot. It was just so surreal.

I went back to work for a little bit in 2016, after not physically working outside the house for 10 years! My husband had a major career change and went to schooling to become a longhaul trucker. And he has now been happily trucking for a little over a year. Although we're financially secure again, it's been hard on me and the boys not having him home every night.

Writing this post is making me a little teary...I think that's why I've been putting it off for so long. But, I'm happy to say that we are finally settled into our new house after moving around for so many years, with everything being in boxes! And this current house came with a spare room that I have ALL to myself and was able to turn it into a nice little crafty space. I feel like I've been unpacking and organizing it for months now. But I'm finally ready to get started!

I have so many ideas floating around in my head, I'm ready to get them all out to make room for more!

I already have some cards in the works, some new sentiments designed, as well as FREEBIES to share...and that means I'm working on getting my shops back open too! I've also been working on some card sketch inspiration that I'm SO excited to share with you all! And I've been asked in the past to make videos of my card making process...so, I'm even going to try my hand at that too...we'll see how that goes. lol

For anyone who read this entire post, give yourself a big pat on the back, because I know it was a long one. For those of you who haven't followed me on Facebook all these years, I figured I should update you all before jumping right back in again!

I'll be back tomorrow with my first NEW crafty post in 4 years!! Until then, thank you for stopping by and for your continued understanding and support throughout the years. The crafting community truly does have the biggest hearts!

Big, Big, Hugs!

  3. Hey, Tracey. Welcome back to Blog land. I'm sorry you've had so much heartache for the past 4 years. I think we all have that moment of not wanting to face someone and tell them what has been happening in our life because we know we're going to start with the tears and the pain will be sharp but it can be healing.

It's nice that you have a craft room now and can focus some time on playing and having fun. Thanks for visiting my blog. I am looking forward to seeing your creations. [Bunny]

  4. Round 2. Thought I'd take a glance at your past work and clicked on some of my favorite designers. All I can say is "WOW"! Your coloring is fantastic and you tend to lean towards bold beautiful colors on your cards and I loved viewing what I saw. Love that you use a lot of embellishments. I see you're going to dazzle us with inspiration. [Bunny]

  6. OMG I WANTED TO CRY FOR YOU!! Girl you have been through the wringer! Awwww! My dad was a truck driver too, well still is so I know what it's like to live that lifestyle. Tough but we sure appreciate what they do for us!!! We also own a bulk fuel cardlock so the majority of our business comes from the truck drivers (logging) and loggers so I've been around it my whole life. I'm so glad to see you back. You're so talented and what a shame to never use it again. Love seeing your inspiration!! BIG HUGS!!
