Curtain Call Color Challenge: {Act #62} and a Sketch...

I was so excited that I finally got some time to sit down and create a card tonight! I used a beautiful fairy image from Mo Manning that I recently colored in. I already had the image and all I needed was some inspiration for a color palette and a sketch. So I used the awesome sketch from this week's Friday Sketchers challenge...or I should say last weeks, as the deadline ended for this one tonight. And for the colors I used the palette from this weeks Curtain Call challenge. This was my first time using a color challenge for my card which made it even more challenging...but I think it went perfect for the colors I chose to color in the image with!

Here's a closeup...

I'm really loving how the closeups are turning out with my old camera! I totally forgot that when I original started using it...I wasn't very advanced in my photography

And for the inside I used the same gorgeous DP and stamped a beautiful sentiment from "MSE" and embossed it with my new kaleidoscope embossing shimmery!!

PAPERS: Mocha brown and white cardstock, DP is from "Me & My Big Ideas".
IMAGE and SENTIMENT: The beautiful image is a digi stamp from "Mo's Digital Pencil" and the sentiment is from "MSE" (My Sentiments Exactly), handstamped and embossed w/Kaleidoscope powder from "Stampendous". The sentiment says: "The love in your heart wasn't put there to stay, love isn't love 'til it's' given away!"
INK and COLOR: The image was colored in with PrismaColor Pencils and a Gamsol technique was used. Moss Green pigment ink from "ColorBox" was used to stamp the sentiment.
EMBELLISHMENTS: Vintage lacy blue and white ribbon, aqua blue "Dew Drops", mocha brown Mulberry Paper roses and leaves from "Recollections", white and blue fabric flowers and a beautiful handmade cherry blossom chiffon flower with a sweet white faux pearl made by "ABespokeTouch" on Etsy.
FEATURES: Machine stitching in and out with a metallic sandy color thread. Part of the background was embossed with the 'Victoria Lace' embossing folder and "Cuttlebug" machine. Stardust "Stickles" glitter was also added for to the image and flowers for sparkle!

What's On My Workdesk?...WOYWW #82

So sorry I'm a day late...but for good reason.

I don't really have much going on this week on my workdesk...not only because I was still trying to relax from Christmas but my little one came down with walking pneumonia over the holiday weekend. Poor little guy was so miserable. We couldn't get him to eat anything and couldn't get his temp to come we took him to the ER and that's when we found out he had the pneumonia, plus an ear infection. He's feeling much better today though thankfully!

So anyways I didn't get a chance to create anything since last week, but for the last few days while the little guy has been sleeping, I've been working on coloring some Digi images in.

Hubs bought me some of Mo's digi's a couple months ago and I didn't get a chance to color them in till now. Her images are so fun to color in! Hopefully I will get a chance to use them on some cards soon!

I used Gamsol and PrismaColor pencils to color them in...I love the way they turn out using the gamsol, but the process takes so Copics or ProMarkers are definitely on my birthday wishlist come!

What's On My Workdesk?...WOYWW #81

Well What's on my workdesk this week?...I have no projects going that's for workdesk has officially become Santa's little

I have been using my workdesk to wrap presents over the last few days and here in the pic are the last of them thankfully!! Little stocking stuffers for the kiddos stockings...yes I wrap those I always loved unwrapping presents as a kid, so I figure they would have so much fun to have even more little gifts to unwrap in their stockings!

And my other table is covered with more stocking stuffer goodies...not all the kiddos!! I dare say that Santa went a little crazy with the goodies! I need to learn to stay away from the Dollar store this time of year! Oh well, more for Momma and Daddy!

Hopefully I will have actual projects to share in the week to come when things settle down and my workspace is!

Hubbie's Birthday!

So Christmas is always hectic but especially hectic when someone in your family has a birthday right around Christmas! My husband's birthday was on the 20th...yes 5 days til Christmas!! Sadly for him most of the time we barely have enough time to sit down to eat cake and ice cream, plus open a few presents...not to mention the wrapping of them when I'm still trying to get Christmas presents

Anyways, this year I had the boys make daddy a card which he really enjoyed, because I usually always forget to pick him up a card or never get a chance to make him one. I did make him a quick and adorable little tag to put on his gift bag though.

I used a stamp from the "Hap-Bee Birthday" stamp set from "Stampendous" and embossed it. I colored it in quickly with some Bic Mark-it markers...I just love those markers! And added some quick little stitching and matching ribbon. And of course sparkled it up with some Stickles!

And here are the boys cards they made for daddy...

Preston made this one, which was all his own idea! He seen the cloud patterned paper and then the monkey stamps and had the idea of making it look like the balloons are carrying the monkey away in the Too too cute! And good thing I have a couple extra bottles of Stickles, because he went to town with that!

And Drake made this one...

No birthday is complete without the cake, although this one was not was store bought. And as you can tell from the writing I used the wrong type of In my haste I picked up the wrong icing, it was suppose to be the kind you can write with. So the cake was supposed to say "Happy Birthday Daddy!". Oh well it was still was mint and chocolate, yummy!

Happy Holidays!!

Finally Finished My Christmas Cards!!

I'm so proud of myself because I never thought I was going to finish in time...I finally finished my Christmas cards...the ones I send to friends and family!! If there is such a thing as chronic procrastination, I think I have! I sent them out on Friday and I think they will all make it to where they need to go on time or I should hope!

And I finally was able to use the gorgeous Martha Stewart bird stamps hubby got me last year for Christmas...So I decided to go with a natural Kraft theme for my cards. I have been into using Kraft cardstock lately because I really love the look of it!
I went with a simple layout for the cards not only to get them done quickly, but to also go along with the natural Kraft. I really shouldn't say simple...because the stitching I did around all the leaves took a bit and really turned out lovely I think.

I also think this is the first time I have used my Cuttlebug "Branches" embossing folder which matches the stamp nicely.

Some close ups of the stitching on the leaves and the sparkle embossing on the sentiment from Stampendous...

The adorable little Christmas hat is from a mini Studio G stamp set that I used my puffy snow pen on. And no card would be complete without a bit of Stickles and embellishments to add sparkle! The hemp cord also added a nice touch I too!

I didn't complete the inside on these ones as I usually do because I liked the look of the plain kraft, also when I do that shipping gets a bit

Oh Christmas Tree!

Can you believe there is only 6 days left till Christmas?!! Christmas snuck up fast on me this year! I haven't even had time to finish all our Christmas shopping yet!

Anyways we finally got around to setting up the Christmas tree and we let the boys do the whole thing themselves! We decided to go with a blue, silver and white palette this time instead of traditional colors.

Sadly some of the pics didn't turn out as I had taken them with my broken camera...I was still trying to deny at this point that is was

Setting up the tree...

Daddy spraying the tree with snow...which wasn't such a bright It took forever for it to dry!

Decorating the tree...and I just love when they get along and actually help each other!

Daddy helping our littlest one with the star...

 Happy Holidays!!

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday? WOYWW #80!

This is my first time participating in WOYWW because I was honestly ashamed to show what my work desk loos Believe it or not my desk...well desk(s) is actually organized before I begin my day and then by the end looks like a tornado hit it!

In this picture I have a bunch of my punches and border punches laying around because I was getting ready to start making some more stickers but never got around to it. I also have some rubber Christmas stamps that I have been using for my cards. In the background toward the wall I have some digi stamps I recently colored and are just waiting to be used on cards!

As you can see from the beads in the background...I have to share my space with my beading addiction as well as my stamping addiction! Sometimes it's not easy juggling around everything! My craft room is actually part of my bedroom, so it's more of a cubby of these days I hope to get my very own craft room!

This particular desk actually sits to the left of me and is mainly used for my primary beading station. When I'm not beading, I use it to set up my Cuttlebug and any other paper crafting run off items I may be working with. You can see my famed ATG tape gun resting on my bead cases. Setting on top is my fabric covered board with my unfinished beading projects laying on top. I also have all my Stickles laying around, my embossing powders, tray and glue dots. And miscellaneous embellishments laying around too!

I have been working like a mad women on Christmas cards for the last few days and I've actually been sick for the last couple of days with my son's cold and it hasn't gotten any that is why I haven't cleaned up my

Here is my main stamping and cardmaking station with my Cricut machine, cardstock and paper cases, scraps bin, paper trimmer, cutting mats and my dry erase board in the background that I use to clip card sketches I may be working on and any other info that I need to remember like measurements for certain things or stuff I'm out of. This desk actually sits right in front of me.

And for my last station, my sewing station sits to the the right of me. I use this desk to stitch my cards and it also holds all my binders filled with my clear stamps, Cuttlebug and Spellbinders Dies too.Off to the left rests my Jukebox with my Cricut cartridges. I also use this desk as my shipping station for my shop. At the bottom lay all my shipping boxes and the drawers contain my shipping supplies. I don't know how the box of button got on the! Oh and my heating gun is here too.

The part of my craft area I didn't show sit directly behind me with several small and large drawers and bins filled to the brims with my rubber stamps, ribbon, embellishments and other crafty goodies!!

So that is my work desk this Wednesday! Hopefully I can show a more organized and tidy work space next week!

I was amazed that I'm not alone by being the only one with a complete and utter unorganized crafty chaos of a! I enjoyed looking at everyone's workspace though and will try to comment soon.

Have an awesome day!

I just love the adorable Dustin Pike image and you can't really see in the pic very well, but the candy cane is all sparkled out...looks so cute!! I used the sketch from last week's Mercy Tuesday challenge...yes it is late as I loved the sketch because it was simple and leaves room for lots of embellishments!
