Love is in the Air! Saturated Canary Love!

Oh Monday, Monday...wish it were!
Actually my week is starting off great. I got my taxes all done...I do them myself, so I usually procrastinate a long time. But this year, I got them done right away! I gave myself a huge pat on the back for it we just can't wait for our refund to get here!! I started this morning off with lots of energy and full of motivation which I hope will continue through the week!

Oh and I'm so happy we finally found out where our nasty house slugs have been coming!! I'm not sure if I had ever mentioned it on here before, but we've had a bit of a slug problem. It's not too nice to wake up in the middle of the night, stroll into your kitchen only to step right on one of the nasty, slimy buggers! yuck! We searched forever for cracks or holes somewhere to find where they were coming from and could never find anything. Well, I finally got hubs to fix our dryer hose because it has been spitting out lint and dust bunnies all over the place. He pulled the dryer away and found slug tracks everywhere!! Up and down the walls, behind the dryer and even slime on the end of the hose... so gross!! They were coming from under the house through our hose that was cracked! So you can say we fixed that problem with a new hose and some good ol' Duck! It will feel so nice to be able to walk around into my kitchen and hallway at night now and not fear slipping in slime!!

Anyways...I have an absolute gorg card to show you today! I can say, I'm very proud of this one! A few days ago Krista from "Saturated Canary" was giving away a beautiful digi with her newsletter and I just couldn't wait to play with this beauty, color her in and slap her on a card!

And now that I have found Krista's adorable digis and got a chance to play with one, I'm definitely going to be hooked! Don't tell the hubs...but I was a little bad and just had to get my hands on some more of her fabulous images!! So you will be seeing more cards from me with these beauties for sure!

You can find Krista's free digi called "Canary Love" along with her fabulous newsletter over at her blog HERE! For my coloring, I was inspired by "Coops" gorgeous coloring work! I told her I was going to try this technique with the outer dots someday and I was finally brave enough to do it! Although her coloring is much more better than Be sure to check out her amazing blog! :)

I added some pearls to the flowers...not so sure I like the way they turned out? And I really need to lay off the Stickles...I know I always say that! Old habits die!

Used the same layout on the inside...but no embellishments this time. Thought the front had enough. My pics were just not wanting to turn out on the last 2 photos.

Happy Birthday - Let's Have Fun! Sketch Saturday Challenge #192 -Sponsored By The Craft Barn!

Are you all ready for another super fun challenge at "Sketch Saturday"?!! I had loads of fun with Jo's sketch this week and I know you will too!

We just celebrated 2 of my boy's oldest turned 10! I feel so! I made this card for him...

Here is the fantastic sketch!

And this week we are being sponsored by our friends at "The Craft Barn"!

One lucky winner will receive a generous prize from The Craft Barn!
(Details to follow)

I decided to do a traditional fold this time around since I have the hemp cord wrapped around the other side. And I have to admit I was a little intimidated by the sketch this week as I don't have any triangular dies! I couldn't believe it...I will definitely have to get me! I had to make my own triangle template which worked out really nicely...except when it came to framing in layers. I eventually got it all worked out though and love the way it turned out!

Isn't he just precious?!! I'm so proud with my coloring on this one as I've been practicing more and more with my Copics and stepping out of my comfort zone! I purchased this image sometime last year from Mo at "Mo's Digital Pencil" and just now got around to using him. I do that all the time...I go around buying lots of digis that are just too cute to pass up and then realize, when will I ever find the time to use all of them??! I just love Mo's digis! They're always filled with so much adorable detail and print out really nicely! This one is called "James at The Carnival" and can be found in Mo's shop HERE!

The ticket sentiments are my own and can be found in my digi sentiment shop HERE!

Oh Baby! Card For A New Momma!

Oh baby it's!
It's been a super long week for me with 2 birthdays to celebrate, cards to create for them and custom orders to fill for my Etsy shop! I'm ready to relax with the hubs this weekend because he's got both days off, yay! And if the weather stays happy...meaning the sun has been out, the boys may be able to finally play outside! Ahhh...looking forward to some piece and!

Before I get to my card, I wanted to give you all a heads up that I will be having some blog candy in the next few days!! I noticed I finally reached over 550 followers and I appreciate each and every one of you!! I never thought in this world I would reach that to me that is worth! So be sure to keep an out...maybe this weekend! :D

I have a super adorable card to share with you all today! I was asked to create a congrats card for a new mommy in neutral colors, since the sex of the baby is not known yet.

I wanted to keep my card kinda simple and easy, so for my layout I used the perfect sketch from "My Time Made Easy"! And I used the color combo from the inspiration photo at "Colour Create".

Isn't she cute?!! When I was browsing stamps and images for my card, I thought this cutie from "Some Odd Girl" would be perfect! She is called 'Momma Mae' and she can be found in digi form HERE!

For the sentiment, I used a stamp from "Creative Cafe" collection and heat embossed it.

The inside...

Another Custom Baby Card for the Granparents...This One For A Girl!!

So I meant to share this card yesterday, but I just got super busy! We celebrated 2 birthdays yesterday. My little one turned 4 and my oldest will be 10 on the 26th...but we usually celebrate their birthdays together. They wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese again this year. I was hoping they would be all Chuck E Cheesed out...but guess not, lol! I ate way too much pizza, ice cream and cake and went into a mini coma as soon as we got home, lol!

Anyways...last week I shared with you a custom baby card I made for a customer of mine that wanted one done for special grandparents for a baby boy. Well she like it so much, that she wanted me to make her a duplicate and one for a girl as well!

Here is the one for a girl...

The pink turned out a little darker than I would have liked, but it's still cute!

Here they are side by side for both a boy and a girl...

The image I used for my card is a super cute stuffed baby donkey from "Meljen's Designs"! And for those of you who wondered how I did the donkey? It is not paper pieced as lots of you mentioned. But I used my white opaque pen to make the dos after I colored it with my Copics! Very cute effect!

And the inside...

I decided I'm going to go back to the old way of listing my ingredients! I like this way much better evn though it takes me longer. But it also gives me a better reference point when I need or want to duplicate a card.

L O V E ... Sketch Saturday Challenge #191! -Sponsored by Bunny Zoe's Crafts!

Good morning all you Sketch Saturday fans!

With all the horrible weather here in Oregon this week, I've had lots of time on my hands! I've just been flying through my cards all week! We're having what I like to call a rain apocalypse! While we Oregonians are use to the rain..this has been the worst and major flooding in almost every county along the coast! Got a little scary yesterday with a few towns having to actually be evacuated because of it. We live a little higher up in the Eugene area, so we only have to deal with the minimal flooding on the streets where they don't drain very well. But step outside and you'll just get blown down the street! I'm hoping the rain and wind will subside a little this weekend, specially for the people who live next to the rivers that have overflowed and the counties who are under flood emergency. I really feel for ya and you are all in my thoughts! Stay safe!

Now onto my card and another fabulous sketch from Jo this week!

Here's the sketch:

And this week we are sponsored by the fabulous "Bunny Zoe's Crafts"!

This weeks challenge winner will win a generous £10.00 shopping spree!!

What an awesome what are ya waiting for?!! Let's see those cards and leave some comment love for the wonderful Saturday Girls DT!

For my card this week, I have used an absolute adorable stamp from "Belle's and Whistles" called 'Beary Big Hug'! She can be found HERE! I colored her in with my Copics and used my white opaque pen to make the cute little bear have polka dots! I'm in a polka dot mood lately!! And I've been experimenting with different shades of blonde hair lately...I think I'm getting better! :)

I just love these super sparkly hearts! Along with the 'Love' word, they are from the Recollections brand and I got me a bunch in different colors from Michaels on sale at the time! My flowers are from "WOC" of course as well as the crystal stems. I think I went a little crazy with the flowers and the Stickles too! I so wish I could undo the Stickles...ah well.  The flourish is a die from "MFT". The rectangles and scalloped rectangle dies are from "Spellbinders".

I used my "EZ Bow Maker" and a gorgeous rhinestone brad from the "Lush" brand. I hung a Tibet style heart charm from my stash on the brad and bow. All the rhinestones in the corners were done with my "iRock" that thing, it comes so in handy as I love to bling up my cards! :)

Cardstock is from DCWV and purple DP is from Recollections. The heart patterned DP is from "Ellie Lash Designs" which is part of a Valentine collection kit. So I want to give her a special thank you for the beautiful DP from her kit! Be sure to check out her blog because she has lots of beautiful Scrapbooking kits as well as freebies too!

Loving the inside on this one! I really like the look of plain Kraft cardstock!

Young Love, So Sweet, So New!

Goodmorning everyone and happy Friday, yay!

Before I get to my card I want to share today, I wanted to apologize to you all for all the weird posts yesterday and the day before and thank you for your I've been having problems with Networked Blogs and with my blog feeds not auto posting to my chosen social network sites anymore and not showing up in readers either. For those of you who pay close attention you have probably noticed none of my posts are showing up so it looks like I haven't posted since Dec. unless you of course stop by my blog and see I have been I noticed the problem the last week of December and just haven't figured out what it could be and how to fix it. After playing with my feeds and Feed Burner the day before I thought I had solved my problem by manually pinging my blog. But it was just a temp fix...not all of my posts are showing up, but most are now. So anyways, if you were wondering what in the heck I was doing with all the test I didn't fly off my! I guess I will see if it works today after tinkering with it some I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Oh and by the way...I've added an email subscription link on the right for an easier way for you to follow my posts now...that's if you prefer to get my nonsense via email...ha ha!

Anyways enough of the bla, bla, bla, right!
You will probably recognize the layout I used for my card because I created a similar card just like this one which I posted on Wednesday! This card was part of the custom Valentine order I needed to fill. But this one is even more girly and pink! I love it! :D

For this one I went with a hot pink, black and silver color combo! I used my new super sparkly paper from my new DCWV paper pad!

I also used 'Rosie Posy' again from "Lili Of The Valley" stamps! I really love her!

And I also used another one of my love themed digi sentiment sets which can be found in my digi shop HERE! For this one I added a different style heart charm...this one is super cute!

I have used cardstock from DCWV, Colorbok and Prima Marketing. And again, I want to give a special thank you to a couple different blogs for the DP I have used. The gorgeous gray polkadot DP is from "Allison Kimball Designs" and the pink and white heart patterned DP is from "The Doodle Place" which has lots of beautiful and free digital paper designs!

For my dies, I have use Spellbinders opened scallops and circles. The little black acrylic pebbles are from stash as well as the hot pink polka satin ribbon. The glittery hearts and 'Love" word are from "Recollections". And the pearl brad is from "Lush".

Continued the theme on the inside...I used a matching font for the Valentine sentiment.

You can find the love sentiments in my shop here...

Sketch Saturday is Looking for 3 New DT Members!!

Would you like to be a Saturday Girl?

.... or maybe a Saturday Boy?

We are looking for 3 new design team members to join Sketch Saturday! :)
Initially on a 3 month trial, with a view to a permanent position we hope.

What is required:

*You MUST have your own personal blog and be prepared to post each week.

*You must be able to make a card each week, and upload it before midnight (UK time) on the Friday before the challenge goes live.
*You will get the sketches well in advance, so you will have plenty of time to create.
*You can use any craft materials you like to make your DT work (except copyright protected images of course),
*The only 'rule' is that you stick as close as possible to the sketch, but of course artisitc licence plays a part and is welcomed, you don't have to be 'spot on' but the sketch design needs to be recognised within your work.
*You must post about our challenge on your own blog each week, leaving links to SS and to our sponsors on all posts.
*You must be prepared to leave comments for challengers, currently 1 challenger in every 10, although you are of course allowed to leave comments for more should you have the time to do so.

*You will be expected to take a turn hosting a DT week. DT weeks are the first Saturday of each month, when it's your turn, we want you to make your own sketch for the challenge, arrange a sponsor, and arrange the guest designer (GD) too. You will be expected to type up the post for this week. DT week is only for one week, but your GD will be with us for the whole month, so would be expected to make a card for each Saturday in the month that you are DT host. You are responsible for uploading your GD's cards each week before the deadline.
*You must also type up the winners post the following week after your DT week, and arrange for your winner to receive their prize from your sponsor.

Sketch Saturday is a challenge blog like any other, and we are happy for our DT to be members of other challenge blog DTs too.
We expect ALL of our DT members to treat SS with the same respect as others.
If you are currently on other DTs then please apply to join us if you want to be a part of our team too, however, if it is going to be a problem for you to make a card for us if you have deadlines and/or rules from other DTs to keep to, then please do not apply if there is a possibilty that SS could be pushed to one side so that you can make your card for another challenge blog instead.
It's only fair to the other SS DT members.
Saying that, real life has a habit of getting in the way sometimes, and if you need time out from all crafting for a while, that's no problem, we will cover your commenting while you take a break.

If you would like to join Sketch Saturday, please email (Jo) and Jilli with THREE of what you consider to be your favourite card/projects to date as well as telling us a little bit about you as a crafter.
Please don't send just photos, we need to see the individual BLOG POSTS
But no more than 3 please.
DO NOT just give us your blog address, we can look through your blogs anyway, we only want specific blog posts please.

Deadline for applications is 28th January, if selected you will be notified 5th February, and we would like you to make your first DT card/project for challenge #195 - 18th February.
We look forward to receiving your emails! :)
