Happy Birthday To My Mom!

Hello crafty pals!

I had an interesting start to my week...well stressful/interesting. It started out with our fuel pump going out in our Ford Focus, which made for both cars being down for the count! We're still having problems with the clutch in the Kia. We of course are never able to afford a professional to repair them, so it comes down to hubby getting a little dirty, lol. We almost couldn't find anyone to help him replace the fuel pump which consisted of him needing a helper to pull the gas tank off. The reason being, he had just filled the tank, left the gas station and the pump went out! I was gearing up to take the plunge and dive under the car with him when at the last moment his step dad came to the rescue. So big props to my father in-law helping hubs out with that. We couldn't have done it without him. His step dad also offered to help with the yay, my car may be fixed and up and running soon! So that was the stressful start to my week.

The interesting part came with my elderly neighbor knocking on my door early in the morning needing someone to take her to the hospital. She is usually someone who keeps to herself and kinda the grumpy old lady on the block...or so everyone always told me. Well she has been having problems getting around and usually had our other neighbors take her everywhere, but they went out of town for the week. Something like this would normally stress me out to the max  and I would make every excuse I can think of to get out of it as I'm a very socially awkward person. Along with the bipolar, I have extreme social anxiety where strangers are concerned, almost to the point of agoraphobic...hardly ever leave the house. But I have been on some new meds lately which help me out, so I was very proud of myself for being able to help someone in need of a ride in an emergency. And I actually found her very pleasant and easy to talk to. I don't know where she got the old grumpy lady on the block reputation but she was not that at all. I actually took her to the doc again the other day and ran some errands for her. I got a delicious Mocha Frappucino coffee out of it, but I would have done it for nothing in return. :)

I've also been busy working on some GDT projects which I will be revealing next month, yay! So I've had a very busy week.

Well enough gabbing! Now to my mom's birthday project I'm sharing today and what you are all really here I've actually had this done since Wednesday but didn't have the time to take photos until today. So glad I remembered to take pics before I sent it out! I actually really love the way this one turned out...I'm so critical of my work.

It's a card and little gift box combined that I decked out to the max and closes with some seam binding ribbon I got from WOC! I always seem to go over the top when I have something in mind that's going to a close friend or family member...I just can't help myself lol!

I used and amazing, gorgeous digi from Tiddly Inks. I love Christy Croll's art! I bought a bunch of her digis awhile back that I've been hoarding...I need to stop doing that because I loved working with this stamp!

I went a little crazy with the Frantage...I'm beginning to fall in love with that stuff! I mixed it with a little regular silver embossing powder to make it sparkly! Gotta have sparkle! I found it easier to apply the Frantage with my Versamark Watermark ink. For those of you who are having trouble getting it to stick without flying everywhere like I was, you can give that a try, lol.

Some more closeups trying to capture the box, the inside of the card and the back. I rarely show what I do to the back of my projects...yes I even deck out the back most of the time lol.

Now for the little surprise on the inside. My mom is an avid book reader and she has no patience at all to figure out her Kindle. So since she still reads the physical books, I made her a mini bookmark which even matches the gift box! lol. I made her some matching earrings too...I forgot to take a photo, oops.

Kraftin Kimmie Krafty Guest Contest w/Sparkle Submission!

Morning crafty pals!

Nothing crazy or new in my life to report...just lazy days of summer is all. It actually rained this whole week...not surprising for our Oregon weather. But the boys were so ready to play in the sun, so hopefully next week will get better.

I have a new card to share with you all today. Yay!

When I seen that Kraftin Kimmie was having a contest for a krafty girl guest spot, I got to creating! I absolutely love Kraftin Kimmie stamps! You were to include some sort of sparkle on your design as make it sparkle I did!

I'm always looking for an excuse to use my sparkly glitter cardstock or sparkle on anything for that!

The image I used is a gorgeous mermaid called Cordelia from the Kraftin Kimmie stamps web store found HERE! She come with a cute little fish too...but I didn't use it on my card this time.

I want to give a shout out again to Alyce from Kit and Clowder for her AMAZING YouTube tutorials! I think I would have given up copics long ago if it weren't for her Copic coloring videos and her step by step process of her coloring techniques. She is so very thorough and her coloring is just beyond words! I could literally watch her color for joke, lol! So if you are struggling with coloring with Copics like I was or if you are just in need of new techniques, please check out her YouTube channel as well as stop by her blog HERE

I admit, I still have a lot of practicing to do, but I think I'm getting to that point where I'm comfortable with my coloring ability.

I was trying to catch the sparkle on the fins as well as the sparkle from the embossed sentiment. And even the ribbon is sparkly lol! I love that ribbon...I've used it so much that I'm almost out. On my crafty list to find more!

And aren't those yoyo ribbon flowers the best?! I got them on huge clearance at Michaels along with the bling flourishes!

The circles were all cut out by hand because I don't have any grand dies yet...still working on that. I want the grand Spellbinders dies sooooo bad! So instead I created some circle templates with my Adobe Illustrator, printed them out and got to cutting to make tracing templates.

Now for the inside...kept it real simple...

Hello crafty friends!

Hope you had a great weekend and Father's day! Ours was kinda uneventful, but we did have fun staying home on Sunday with a couch potato, movie watching and popcorn eating kinda day! The kiddos were excited to share their cards they made for daddy and he loved them of course. They did such a great job! :)

I have a new card to share with you all today...

Kinda turned out pinker than I would have liked, lol. I didn't go crazy with the flowers on this one this time...

I love this image of Krista's! She's adorable! I admit I'm horrible at hair though and this image is mostly allll But this image makes it great for practicing. I love the name Krista gave her too called "Hairy Situation" and she can be found at Saturated Canary HERE!

Some closeups...

Went with a simple inside on this one...left more a writing space.

Happy Father's Day!

Hello crafty friends!

I've had a super busy week and the boys last day of school was this Thursday! We celebrated our little one's last day of Kindergarten...sniff, sniff...can't believe how fast this school year went!! I'm so happy summer is finally here though...already planning lots of stuff to do with the kiddos! Although, I'm sure by the end of this summer I will be ready for them to go back to

I will make this post quick as I just wanted to say Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful daddy's out there! Hope you get spoiled with lots of hugs and kisses and get to relax and enjoy your special day! My hubby has Sundays off, so he will definitely enjoy his day and make it a lazy one. He works hard, so he deserves it!

Along with this quick post, I have a quickie card to share with you all. I think this is as CAS as I can

I made this for my hubs. I don't usually make cards for guys...I'm just not that great at them. But I kinda like the way this one turned out. I don't think it really matters with guys though...they pretty much like anything, or at least mine

I haven't done much embossing lately. I loved that this stamp had the thick lettering which made it perfect for embossing.

The inside...

Sending You Bear Hugs

Hello crafty pals!
How has your week been? Hope it's getting warm and starting to feel like summer where you're at? It's super hot here...been in the upper 80's all week! That's sizzlin hot for us Oregonians, lol. We've been out everyday taking advantage and enjoying the weather.

We went to the river this last weekend with our boys and we had a blast...well up until we came across some ugly, creepy crayfish! My boys were having fun swimming and splashing each other until I heard one of them scream "lobster!!". It was hilarious because it did look like a very mini lobster. But it was only about the size of our palm. We couldn't get them to go back into the water after that. Hopefully they will forget about it the next time we go, lol.

I've been working hard to get another card posted but at the same time I've been working on some projects for a guest design position which I can't reveal until July! I was super excited when I was asked to guest design for this particular company, so I can't wait to share with you all in July!

For now, I managed to get a card created that I can share! I seen the Kraftin Kimmie "Let's Go To The Movies" challenge and knew just what I wanted to create!

"Goldilocks and the Three Bears"

I couldn't get my pics to turn out that great on this card...they turned out really yellowish.

Awhile back, I went a little crazy and bought a boat load of Kraftin Kimmie stamps and I'm only now just getting them all mounted and inked up!

I fell in love with this Goldilocks stamp and the adorable little bears! And I love that most of Kimmie's stamps come with little extras, like the little bear off to the side and with sentiments too! I searched through the Kraftin Kimmie store and can't seem to find this may be retired? But you can check out all the stamps HERE!

And of course the inside...

More Creative Mojo Freebies!

Hello crafty friends!
How's your weekend so far? The rain finally stopped here and the temps are in the 70's...the warmest it's been in 2 weeks!! So we're heading down to the river today! But before we do, I have some more freebie digi sentiments to share with you all!

I meant to share these last week, but completely forgot and I hadn't even added them to the shop until today. I created these when I was in my creative mojo slump. I used some of my favorite quotes as well as created some new frames in illustrator!

As I mentioned in my last freebie post, I wanted everyone to be able to download and enjoy my as a reminder I have added all my past freebies to Mediafire which will make it much easier to download them all for those who were having issues with 4Shared.

Here are the freebies!

To download, just click on the image preview above or you can click HERE!

The files are uploaded in zipped format, so you will need a program like Winzip which you can download for free to extract them. If you have trouble, please leave me a comment and I will try to help you.

I really hope you enjoy them as much as I did creating them! All I ask is that you give credit on whatever project you may use them on. And please do not share them or claim them as your own. You may sell your handmade cards with the sentiments, but you do not have permission to sell the sentiments in their original format.

I created 2 complete sets available in my digi shop! If you would like to purchase the complete sets, just click on the images below or you can click HERE!

Until next time,
Happy crafting to all!
